The Business & Product Context
Swedit had a genuinely compelling concept — earn credits from movement, redeem through real brands. But the app experience wasn't landing. Users were starting strong and dropping off within weeks, unable to feel the value of staying consistent.
Challenge
Business Impact
Early dropout rates
Users start strong but drop off within weeks of signing up
Boring, generic workouts
Experiences felt disconnected from real life and motivation
Lack of accountability
No social layer or peer pressure to stay consistent
No tangible value signal
Users didn't see rewards accumulating in real time
Overwhelming complexity
Too many plans and metrics caused decision fatigue
Distrust in tracking
Users doubted whether their effort was being fairly counted
How Design Elevated the Experience
- Move → Earn → Redeem loop made visible on every screen — walking, running, cycling, and workouts all earn credits redeemable through partner brands
- Squads & accountability challenges: social functionality enabling friend groups and public challenges with peer pressure built in
- Personalised fitness journeys: goal-type customisation (weight loss, endurance, lifestyle) tailoring notifications and milestones to the user
- In-app campaign engine: scalable framework for time-limited events and marketing activations to keep the experience fresh
- Real-time activity tracking: visual confirmations and animations showing credit earnings the instant movement is detected
- Streamlined onboarding flow designed to deliver the first reward moment within 5 minutes of sign-up
“Fitness is a universal struggle — but not for lack of tools. Today's world is flooded with workout apps, step trackers, and calorie counters. Swedit set out to be different: a platform that converts everyday movement into real, tangible rewards. Our mission was to make that vision feel as good as it sounds.”
